Obstacles
We encountered 2 significant challenges during the loading process of the second lot, which consisted of 4 units of 40-foot flat rack containers.
1. The first obstacle arose from the timing of the loading operation. It coincided with the peak of the tourist ski season in Italy, and the shipper's site was located in close proximity to ski resorts. As a result, the local road authorities intended to close a 20-kilometer stretch of road, creating difficulties for transportation. However, through extensive negotiations with the authorities, we managed to reach an agreement. Ultimately, we were granted permission to move the cargo accompanied by a convoy of 21 escort cars. Eventually, this number was reduced to 9 escort cars to streamline the process.
2. The second challenge was posed by the winter season and heavy snowfall in Italy. The shipper's site was covered in snow, and it was crucial to ensure a safe and smooth loading operation. Our dedicated team of agents promptly traveled to the site and diligently cleared the snow, creating an optimal environment for the loading of the cargo, which had been stored in an open-air area
